Course Description

Have you ever wondered about things like freeboard, BFE, elevation certificates and hydrostatic vents?  If so, the two day Virtual Fundamentals of Floodplain Management class is for you!  Developed as an introductory course to floodplain management, this class has been specifically tailored to being delivered online to meet pandemic social distancing requirements.  You can learn about these terms as well as many other elements of floodplain management as you travel down the road to achieving your Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification.  While the class is NOT a test-taking course and NOT intended to help you pass the exam (you’ll need your own experience for that!) it IS geared towards presenting the information that makes a floodplain manager a CFM and details what they do in their day to day roles.  In the virtual format, multiple instructors share the various topics so you’ll hear from numerous individuals who are experienced experts in their specific realms of floodplain management.
