This one-day class serves as the educational tool to fill in between the core classes as its material is based on timely changes in floodplain management.  During this class, individual speakers from FEMA, ISO, the Florida Division of Emergency Management and members of the Florida Floodplain Managers Association will discuss recent updates occurring in the area of floodplain management.  Topics will include changes to the CRS program, updates to the building code and technical updates as to how elements of floodplain management (hydrostatic venting, agricultural buildings and coastal concerns just to name a few) are handled through local, state and federal offices.

The agenda timing, content and speakers are subject to change.
