This field course is designed to empower Federal, local, tribal, and State floodplain management professionals and those who support them in efforts to reduce/eliminate flood damages to the built environment and enhance floodplains’ natural and beneficial functions with advanced floodplain management concepts.

The course includes the following four, one-day modules:

G194.1: Local Floodplain Manager Roles and Responsibilities

G194.2: NFIP Rules and Regulations in Depth

G194.3: Letters of Map Change

G194.4: Preparing for Post-disaster Floodplain Management Responsibilities

Course Objectives are to provide participants with the in-depth analysis and more advanced discussion of floodplain management concepts so States, local governments, Federal agencies, and Tribes can more effectively manage and implement flood damage reduction programs to eliminate or reduce future flood losses.
